Fire - cause
The reason for a fire is not always immediately clear, because a fire can have numerous causes: incorrect storage of flammable liquids or materials, electrical devices, heaters, open fires such as candles or fireplaces, thunderstorms and much more.
If a fire breaks out, the right approach is particularly important. Polygon's proactive approach begins with an assessment of the damage and a detailed explanation of further steps. The remediation of a fire site includes the elimination and the salvation of what can be salvaged.
Clean-up work can reveal further water damage caused by the extinguishing fire, which means that drying and possibly restoration work is required to protect damaged areas, replace surfaces and structures.

Restoration
Polygon offers numerous restorations in the different areas - from the mostly carried out building and household refurbishment to tool, machine and plant refurbishment to electrical and electrical refurbishment.
With this procedure loosely lying soot and/or dust are removed by suction, brushing or blowing off. We also deal with the wet process, in which water-soluble parts are removed to a depth of 5 mm using a hot water pressure washer. The blasted water is collected/absorbed together with the dissolved chlorides and disposed of professionally. In addition, there are a number of other sanitation techniques that are used depending on the area of application. On request, we will coordinate ALL other tradesman services.

Dismantling
Polygon’s role in a fire incident is to both clean up after the fire and mitigate the secondary effects, which include smoke damage, oxidisation and water damage caused by extinguishing the blaze.
Areas in danger of collapsing are secured, electrical devices and machines are immediately switched off and disconnected from the power supply. Drains and other openings are closed or secured so that no pollutants can flow out uncontrolled. Extinguishing water residues are pumped out and affected furniture or objects must be stored in dry rooms. Rooms that are not affected are sealed off so that traces of fire such as soot are not spread. The damage is documented by photos and written records. Depending on the individual damage, our highly specialized technicians determine the optimal restoration process.
